Sam Allardyce has hailed Newcastle's buy of Anthony Gordon as the "best signing" of the transfer window.
He told: William Hill and Footy Accumulators’ podcast, No Tippy Tappy Football: “Anthony Gordon to Newcastle is the best buy of the window for me.
“I’m not sure how strong that bid was from Chelsea before the window shut in the summer, it was said to be 60 or £70 million, but he ended up forcing his own way out, which I don’t like; he is an Everton boy and Everton supporter.
“You have to get the best you can, but I think £45 million is short of the real valuation for a player of his calibre.
“Great for Newcastle, though, I would say it was a bit of a bargain for them.“
