Union Berlin's eye-catching capture of Isco has collapsed at the eleventh hour.
The former Real Madrid wonderkid has been a free agent since Sevilla terminated his contract last month, and had looked set for a move to the German capital.
However, following the 30-year-old's medical, the transfer has fallen through due to financial complications.
A statement from the fashionable Bundesliga club read: “We wanted to have Isco in Berlin, but we have our limits. These were exceeded today — contrary to the previous agreement."
